TILT AND TURN: WINDOWS
Gowercroft Joinery produces tilt & turn windows of original European design. These are growing in popularity throughout the U.K. We are one of very few manufacturers capable of producing these windows in a quality hardwood or timber to suit your specification.

Construction: All of our windows are manufactured from quality hardwood, or a timber to suit your specification. We use finger and comb jointing, combined with D4 grade PVA glue to increase the strength of the joints.
Every exposed edge is fully end-grain sealed, or painted. With moisture levels in the wood maintained at a stable and even level; there is less expansion and contraction, and a reduction in cracking and cupping. This can lead to a significant increase in service life.
Operation: This type of window operates by a single lever which controls both the tilt and the turn. Typically, a quarter turn allows the window to open inwards like a traditional casement window whilst a second quarter turn will allow the window to swing inwards from the top, for safe-and-secure ventilation.
The tilt function offers excellent indirect ventilation and better air circulation whilst the turn function allows for easy cleaning as the entire outside pane can be accessed safely from indoors.
Glazing: We use SGG Planitherm glass units as standard in our products. This family of glass units offers the lowest emissivity and the clearest glass in the industry. Our standard units also include Argon-filled double glazing cavity and warm-edge spacer bonded bars. These units will offer you significant financial savings over the existing units in your home.
Our drained and vented glazing system prevents water build-up in the rebate and gives the glazing units the best chance of a long service life. Without this system, glazing units are likely to fail in increasing quantities and require replacing.
The glazing system has timber beads fitted all round for enhanced appearance and performance. All our glazing is installed using high performance security glazing tape. Specialist glazing such as argon filled, bronze anti-sun, toughened or laminated can be fitted if required to offer additional insulation, performance and/or security.
Decoration: Our products are fully-factory finished units, using a triple coat, water-based paint system; they arrive on site ready for a quick and easy installation. There is no need to paint in situ; reducing disruption and increasing the overall quality of the finish.
Our triple-coat paint system produces a more uniform application, a more durable coating, and a superior finish quality. We exclusively use water-based paints and finishes, as these coatings have a number of clear benefits over traditional solvent-based paints.
We have numerous options for ironmongery and finishes on your items. This includes split-colour finishing and various moulding types.
Security and Benefits: Featuring Siegenia high security operating gear, our range of tilt and turn windows offer a strong and effective deterrent to any would-be burglar or vandal - the entire perimeter can be locked into place with a single operation of the lever.
