"In 2004 my wife and I embarked on a project to build a large family home, we had acquired a fabulous plot with outstanding views. The house was a Lutyens-styled design with a contemporary element. We wanted light and open family spaces that had a lasting quality finish using local craftsmen, joiners and stone masons. Major features included large traditional hard wood and Oak beams featuring large glazed elevations front and rear, with a modern Orangery onto the south facing elevation.
The main contractor introduced Gowercroft who were involved from day one with specification and design, their experience gave rise to suggestions and input that were in line with what we were trying to achieve and saved us many man-hours of heartache and cost later, at the construction stage. Gowercroft production and design teams were a key partner in the build. My aim was to make communication and ease of information to all trades a priority, I saw this as vital to keep the project on cost and on time, and at the same time maintain the quality finish.
Seven years on, and five years after completion, Gowercroft still play an important role in the maintenance and product support associated with running a large home. This is vital to retaining the prime condition and presentation of the house which in its elevated position is exposed to all the extremes of weather."
